چکیده

From image retrieval to image classification, all research shares one common requirement: a good image database to test or train the algorithms. In order to create a large database of images, we set up a project that allowed gathering a collection of more than 33000 photographs with keywords and tags from all over the world. This project was part of the “We Are All Photographers Now!” exhibition at the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland. The “Flux,” as it was called, gave all photographers, professional or amateur, the opportunity to have their images shown in the museum. Anyone could upload pictures on a website. We required that some simple tags were filled in.

Fuzzy Neighbor Voting for Automatic Image Annotation

With quick development of digital images and the availability of imaging tools, massive amounts of images are created. Therefore, efficient management and suitable retrieval, especially by computers, is one of themost challenging fields in image processing. Automatic image annotation (AIA) or refers to attaching words, keywords or comments to an image or to a selected part of it. In this paper,...

BBID: the biological biochemical image database

The Biological Biochemical Image Database is a WWW accessible relational database of archived images from research articles that describe regulatory pathways of higher eukaryotes. Pathway information is annotated and can be queried in the study of complex gene expression. In this way, complex regulatory pathways can be tested empirically in an efficient manner in the context of large-scale gene...

Automatic Image Tagging Using Community-Driven Online Image Databases

Automatic image tagging is becoming increasingly important to organize large amounts of image data. To identify concepts in images, these tagging systems rely on large sets of annotated image training sets. In this work we analyze image sets taken from online community-driven image databases, such as Flickr, for use in concept identification. Realworld performance is measured using our flexible...

Automatic Detection of Microaneurysms in Color Fundus Images using a Local Radon Transform Method

Introduction: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious and most frequent eye diseases in the world and the most common cause of blindness in adults between 20 and 60 years of age. Following 15 years of diabetes, about 2% of the diabetic patients are blind and 10% suffer from vision impairment due to DR complications. This paper addresses the automatic detection of microaneurysms (MA...
